Project Background:

As EV charging commercial complex combining EV charging station, recreation, food and beverage services for all kinds of EVs in Longgang District, Shenzhen, this station faces pain points such as high electricity bills, insufficient capacity of transformers during charging peak hours, and insufficient space for configuring containerized ESS. There is high demand for economic and stable energy supply for the complex during actual operation.

The 1.935MWh ESS provided by BSB was put into operation in September 2022. It can be connected to the grid through a 400V AC power distribution cabinet, achieving peak shaving and valley filling, power capacity expansion, backup power supply and other functional services. This is another typical application of the 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage system in the charging station scenario proposed by BSB, and also the first large-scale application of this product in the charging station scenario. BSB has once again gained high recognition from customers with its customized solutions, reliable products, professional technology and service capabilities.

The project is a customized '3+3' 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage solution, which is for peak shaving and valley filling to reduce electricity costs, power capacity expansion to avoid transformer renovation costs, and to serve as a temporary backup power source in summer power rationing or power outages to reduce economic losses. Even in the future, participating in the demand response of the grid power which will bring additional benefits. The capacity of each intelligent distributed energy storage system is 100kW/215kWh, which is mainly configured with one 100kW energy storage bidirectional converter, one 215kWh battery system, one battery management system (BMS), one energy management system (EMS), one temperature control system and one fire protection system. And the system adopts a modular design, with an AC 400V output from the energy storage cabinet, which can be directly expanded in parallel.

Peak Shaving and Valley Filling

Taking the electricity price of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd. announced in June 2022 as an example, the price difference between peak and valley periods is 1.1930 yuan and 0.9030 yuan, with two charges and two discharges, and a 2-hour operation of the module. This saves customers over 600,000 yuan in electricity bills annually.

 

Backup Power Supply

To meet the charging needs of over 50 EVs and achieve more economic benefits during summer power rationing or power outages.

 

Small Footprint

Based on site condition that space is not enough to install containerized ESS and the characteristics of the 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage system, which adopts super fire resistance and high flame retardant materials, a full 'mirror' design scheme (no protruding or external core components, ie. air conditioning & PCS), and a small single cabinet area (only 1.68 square meters), the '3+3' 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage system solution is developed for customer. Three 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage systems are seamlessly combined to form three sets of 645kWh energy storage systems, which do not occupy station parking spaces and maintenance channels, maximize the retention of the original number of parking spaces, and reduce the occupied area.

Easy Delivery and Fast Installation and Commissioning

The 215kWh intelligent distributed energy storage product adopts an all-in-one design, high integration, turnkey delivery, factory prefabrication, complete system transportation, and simple hand in hand parallel expansion. The entire project is installed, commissioned and connected within 48 hours of charging idle time, which was highly appreciated by customer.
